It’s that time again! It’s time to get your spring cleaning on!
Winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. It’s time to give your home a good deep clean and get rid of all that stale winter dust and dirt and grime and other nastiness that is hiding in every nook and cranny of your home.
We all know the basic cleaning tasks that we need to: vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, etc. But, we often forget some of the little tasks that when done can make a really big difference. They are so easy to forget but so important to do at least a couple of times a year.
Here are six spring cleaning hacks to help you remember and easily tackle a few of those hard-to-remember spots in your house so that you can finally have that sparkling home you want.
1. Refrigerator Cleaning Tip
When cleaning your refrigerator, don’t just scrub the big surfaces. Take out the bins and shelves. Clean behind the bins and inside the shelf tracks.
2. Kitchen Cabinet Cleaning Tip
Wipe down all of your drawer and cabinet pulls, including the spaces behind and around them. A cloth dipped in warm water and dish soap will work wonders. Or, use a vinegar/water solution.
3. Dusting Tip
When dusting, don’t forget to clean all of the overhead lights, fans, and moldings too. Use a flashlight or other bright light to help find all of the dust particles in these hard to see places. Wipe down everything.
4. Curtain Cleaning Tip
Wash your curtains. Or, dry clean them if that is necessary. Curtains absorb dust, smells, germs, and everything else. A good washing will do wonders.
5. Bathroom Cleaning Tip
While we’re at it, also wash your fabric shower curtains and liners. A gentle cycle with warm water will help get rid of all the gross mildew and mold and whatever else might be living on them. If you use plastic shower curtains and liners, follow the manufacturer instructions for cleaning them.
6. Trash Can Cleaning Tip
Wash out all of your trash cans. If you can, take them outside and use a hose and a good cleaning solution. Dish soap works just fine. If you have something that smells good, that’s even better!
While you are getting your home in tip-top shape this spring, don’t forget all of the hidden little corners and spaces that we tend to look past in our normal cleaning routine. Before you know it, you’ll have a house that looks fantastic!
